The Camping Resort Simulator demo keeps getting better: what's changed since launch
Published: · Cottondream Studios
In short: since the free demo of Camping Resort Simulator launched on Steam on October 1, 2026, we've released several updates in just a few days. All of them come from what players tell us and from how the demo is being played: a clearer start, simpler pitches, more camera options and revised texts in all eight languages. The demo is still free until October 26.
What has changed
A clearer start
We've rebuilt the first steps. The game guides you through your first two days step by step, with illustrated hints and markers right on your campsite. After that, it leaves you free to build your own way.
Controls and camera
There are more ways to move the camera: keyboard, mouse and screen edges, plus keyboard zoom. Building paths is more direct too.
Simpler pitches
Any pitch welcomes tents, caravans and motorhomes. Services depend on the coverage of your Service Centre, and you can see that coverage right on the ground.
Leisure for the whole campsite
Food, shops and leisure are destinations for every guest, not only for those sleeping nearby. Guests also tell you what they're missing: shade, lighting, things to do.
Progression you can see
From the very beginning, the game shows which accommodation comes next and how far you are from unlocking it.
Languages
A full review of the German text, and fixes across all eight languages.
What we're working on
- More control options
- Mid-game economy balance
- More polish for the tutorial, based on how the demo is being played
How to try the latest version
- Open the Camping Resort Simulator page on Steam.
- Click "Download Demo". If you already had it installed, Steam updates it automatically.
- Start a new game to see the rebuilt first steps.
If it's your first time, the beginner's guide will get you off to a good start. Everything about the demo and Steam Next Fest is in this article.
