What kind of camper are you? The seven you meet on every campsite
Published: · Cottondream Studios
In short: every campsite has the same cast: the one-night backpacker, the family at the pool, the couple looking for silence, the retirees in their motorhome and the regulars. Camping Resort Simulator, a PC game in which you run your own campsite, turns them into seven kinds of guests with their real-life habits. Which one are you?
The seven types of campers
1. The backpacker
- You know them: alone, tent on their back, gone by tomorrow.
- What they want: nature, above all. And a fair price.
- In the game: they only come with a tent, spend very little and wander further than anyone.
2. The young crowd
- You know them: they arrive as a group, with a tent, and are the last to go to bed.
- What they want: everything close by and plenty to do.
- In the game: they make the most noise and mind it the least. Leisure matters more to them than to anyone else.
3. The family
- You know them: four of them, usually with a caravan, and the towels are already by the pool.
- What they want: clean facilities, safety and everything within reach.
- In the game: the pool and the playground are their thing, and they never stray far from their pitch.
4. The couple
- You know them: they look for the corner with the best view and keep their voices down.
- What they want: views, peace and nature, in almost equal parts.
- In the game: they prefer glamping, can't stand noise and love good food.
5. The retirees
- You know them: they arrive in a motorhome, in no hurry, and stay for days.
- What they want: peace and quiet, and everything a short walk away.
- In the game: they walk slowly and have more patience in a queue than anyone.
6. The regulars
- You know them: caravan or tent, the same pitch every year, the chair always in its place.
- What they want: nature and calm. Nothing else.
- In the game: they stay longer than anyone, hardly ever leave their pitch and shop at the campsite store.
7. The premium guest
- You know them: no tent: they book the villa with a view.
- What they want: the best spot, no noise and no waiting.
- In the game: they pay more and spend more than anyone, but they only come once the campsite has a good reputation. And they don't queue.
The hard part is getting them to share
Anyone who has camped next to a group of twenty-year-olds knows. The young crowd wants a party and couples want silence. Families want the pool next door and regulars want it far away.
The same happens in Camping Resort Simulator, and you solve it the way a real campsite does: with the layout. Quiet corners for early risers, leisure where it bothers nobody, and a spot for everyone. You can click any guest and see how their day is going.
Try it
The demo is free on Steam until October 26, 2026. What else a camper will recognise in the game is in A camping game for campers. To get off to a good start, read the beginner's guide.
